Closing lines

"The Blowers Daughter"

And so it is
Just like you said it would be
Life goes easy on me
Most of the time
And so it is
The shorter story
No love, no glory
No hero in her sky
I can't take my eyes off of you
I can't take my eyes off you
I can't take my eyes off of you
I can't take my eyes off you
I can't take my eyes off you
I can't take my eyes...
And so it is
Just like you said it should be
We'll both forget the breeze
Most of the timeAnd so it is
The colder water
The blower's daughter
The pupil in denial
I can't take my eyes off of you
I can't take my eyes off you
I can't take my eyes off of you
I can't take my eyes off you
I can't take my eyes off you
I can't take my eyes...
Did I say that I loathe you?
Did I say that I want to
Leave it all behind?
I can't take my mind off of you
I can't take my mind off you
I can't take my mind off of you
I can't take my mind off you
I can't take my mind off you
I can't take my mind...My mind...my mind...'Til I find somebody new

I am a huge fan of Damien Rice. I discovered him from the above song during the movie "Closer."
His music is so haunting and sober and honest.
When I listen to "The Blower's Daughter," I get swept up in the emotions of love found and lost and of not having control of your destiny. But before I used to end the song with disquest and unease because of the final line: I can't time my mind off you till I find someone new."

Before, I hated the line because it wasn't in the vain of true love. We have been taught that true honest love is forever, right? But if he is able to find someone new than was he really in love with the blower's daughter?

But after my experiences in love, I've come to find comfort in the final line. Losing someone can rob you of being hopeful of happiness and love but in hoping that you can find someone else that brings out those feelings - that is where hope and comfort lay.

I've come to learn that everything you say in a relationship is a potential lie. "I can't live without you." "I will love you forever." You might feel those words when you say them but when the relationship dies, usually the meaning behind those words die as well.
