Well, I think my feet are firmly planted in Fort Collins. I just had the type of Saturday that reminded how great I had it here. It started out with a little trip to the New Belgium Brewery. I went with my summer roommates, Ike and Brian, Danielle, Ike's lady friend, Patrick, an old college friend and Aaron and his friend Emma from Boulder. The place was crowded as if someone was giving free beer away. Actually the place was giving free beer away. The brewery is known for its tasting room. We all had four samples of New Belgium's best brew. I wrote some postcards to my California friends while there.
From there, we headed over to a place called Route 34, which is a bike shop slash bar. It's a strange combo but it worked, plus the $2 brews were a plus. We must have stayed there for about four hours, telling embarrassing jokes and enjoying a near perfect Colorado evening. The night ended with a group of us heading back to my place for an impromptu game of poker.
I just had the best time. It was simple, no drama, no worrying about the problems in my life. I really missed this place and these people. If I had a time capsule of good times, Saturday would be in there.
I still have this thing on my mind that I just can't escape. Before I left California, I had said some of the most awful things to someone I really cared about. I let my emotions get the better of me and I said things I will probably never be able to take back. It's eating me alive and I wish I could change what happened. I hope she forgives me.
