Catching Up With The Past

For the past two days, I have been spending time with old friends, catching up on their lives and where they are headed. So many of them seem to be in the same predicament I find myself in - living in this new period between college and the real world. Well others seem to be on the fasttrack to full-blown adulthood, which isn't a bad thing.

Well, I finally got that need-to-eat-out-at-all-my-old-favorite-restaurants thing out of me. Now, it's time to save a few buck, hit the old Safeway and start cooking at home. I just couldn't resist eating my old favorite dishes again when I got back here. It was great.

Last night I went out with my new soon-to-be roommate and an old fraternity friend and his female roommate. I was reminded of how cool of a guy the friend was. Just very laid back and easy to talk with. With started out at Lucky Joes, which is a the type of bar where the floor is covered in peanut shells. From there, we went to Elliot's, which is a martini place. I have discovered a new favorite drink - a citrus cosmo. I first had it at the Elbow Room in San Fransisco. Now, I don't mind being a man and ordering a cosmo. That's fine. I just wish the drink was pink. But what are you going to do. My future roommate learned he is not a fan of martinis.

Well, we think we found our future home. We are going to rent a two-bedroom apartment in a nice part of town for about the same price I was paying to rent a room from a dickhead who ended up robbing me in Salinas. UGH!

So far, things are going well. I have plans in the next few days to see more old faces and catch up on what everyone has been up to during my exodus in California.
